Call for Papers for the Special Issue:
“Collective Health, Buen Vivir, and Traditional Knowledge: Dialogues for Imagining
Other Possible Worlds”
Revista Psicologia e Saúde is a peer-reviewed electronic journal published biannually
that aims to disseminate and advance scientific knowledge by fostering dialogue
between Psychology and other health-related disciplines (e.g., Nursing, Medicine,
Physiotherapy, Social Work, Anthropology, among others). Its purpose is to provide
open access to local and international contributions arising from empirical research,
theoretical reflections, technical notes, and book reviews, thereby contributing to the
development of Psychology as both a discipline and a professional practice of
reference in the fields of health and culture. Revista Psicologia e Saúde is published by
the Graduate Program in Psychology at Universidade Católica Dom Bosco. The journal
is currently indexed in LILACS, PePSIC, DOAJ, and LATINDEX.
The special issue “Collective Health, Buen Vivir, and Traditional Knowledge: Dialogues
for Imagining Other Possible Worlds” aims to bring together original contributions
that foster dialogue among different fields of Psychology and Collective Health,
traditional and ancestral knowledge, and the diverse conceptions of Buen Vivir
developed by Indigenous Peoples and traditional communities. In a context marked by
deepening social inequalities, climate change, health and environmental crises, and
disputes over ways of existing, caring, and inhabiting territories, this special issue seeks
studies that contribute to the development of critical, intercultural, and decolonial
perspectives capable of broadening the horizons of Psychology and health knowledge
production.
We welcome articles addressing, among other topics: dialogues among Psychologies,
Collective Health, and Buen Vivir; mental health and psychosocial care among
Indigenous Peoples, Quilombola communities, and traditional communities;
territorialities, ancestralities, spiritualities, and traditional care practices;
interculturality, decoloniality, and epistemologies of the South; relationships among
health, nature, climate, and ways of life; environmental and climate justice; public
policies concerning Indigenous Peoples and traditional communities; human rights,
territorial rights, and health promotion; community-based and participatory practices;
collaborative and participatory methodologies committed to territories and
communities; and research in Psychology and the Human and Social Sciences
developed in dialogue with diverse forms of knowledge and cosmologies.
The special issue also welcomes interdisciplinary contributions from Collective Health,
Anthropology, Sociology, Education, Social Work, Geography, Law, Environmental
Studies, and related fields, provided that they contribute to reflections on care
practices, health production, the defense of life, and the construction of other possible
worlds.
Submitted manuscripts are encouraged to include Indigenous, Quilombola, and
traditional community researchers as participants in the research process and as co-
authors.
Contributions may be submitted in Portuguese, Spanish, or English.
