Optimismo: Teoría e Aplicabilidad para la Psicología

Resumen

Los estudios revelan que los optimistas presentan más comportamientos de promoción de salud, mayor calidad de vida y mejores índices de salud física y mental. En este sentido, este trabajo objetivó presentar aspectos conceptuales, principales medidas usadas para medir el optimismo y evidencias de investigación en relación al optimismo, a través de un estudio teórico. Inicialmente, se delimitó el concepto del optimismo, teoría y sus principales tipos. A continuación, se abarcaron evidencias de la relación del optimismo con salud, coping y bienestar, caracterizando su impacto en la salud de las personas. Se definieron, por fin, intervenciones relacionadas con el mantenimiento o el aumento de los niveles de optimismo y sus resultados. En general, se vio que el optimismo influye positivamente en el ajuste psicológico en diferentes contextos. Al final, se hicieron recomendaciones de nuevos estudios sobre la base de las lagunas detectadas en la producción nacional con respecto a la temática.
