This study aimed to analyze the prevalence of negative self-perception of health in adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic and associated factors. This is a descriptive cross-sectional study carried out with 287 adolescents. Questions related to self-perception of health, sociodemographic profile, and behavioral factors were evaluated. Prevalence ratios (PR) and 95% confidence intervals (95%CI) were estimated using multiple Poisson regression models. The prevalence of negative self-perception of health was observed in 31.0% of the adolescents. It was observed that body image (PR = 1.14; 95%CI:1.05-1.23), physical activity (PR = 1.12; 95%CI:1.03-1.21), sleep quality (PR = 1.17; 95%CI:1.08-1.28), and fruit consumption (PR = 1.18; 95%CI:1.07-1.30) were associated with adolescents’ negative self-perception of health. It is concluded that, during the COVID-19 pandemic, a high prevalence of negative self-perception of health was observed. In addition, dissatisfaction with body image, insufficient physical activity, poor sleep quality and fruit consumption affected the adolescents’ self-perception of health.
